Our upcoming Facilitator Training Workshops will be held at Brandeis University in Waltham, MA, on the following dates. Now accepting registrations for all dates!

ACT facilitator trainers Sylvia Peña and Karen Gutterman are preparing for a wonderful training this October 21st-22nd. To learn more about the ACT Northeast Training Center staff and the merits of the ACT Raising Safe Kids program, please see the three-part brochure, available online.
ACT's Raising Safe Kids program for preventing violence is an evidence-based program that the American Psychological Association has been developing over 12 years to provide parents with the most current information for parenting young children.
About becoming an ACT Raising Safe Kids facilitator
The Facilitator Training Program is designed to train professionals who work with children, including educators, psychologists, childcare providers, mental health workers, school counselors, case managers, social workers and healthcare providers. Participants learn to be skilled parent group facilitators and are trained in:
- Risk factors for violence and its consequences on children's lives.
- Practical methods of discipline to use with children.
- Protective factors and skills for effective parenting, such as anger management, peaceful conflict resolution, discipline and media violence education.
- How to participate in community-wide prevention efforts with a support network of professionals.
