Course Description: Using Vivian Paley’s storytelling curriculum as a model to begin with, participants will explore a variety of ways to introduce a storytelling curriculum to their students. We will define the learning benefits for all children, and discuss modifications for very young children (2’s and 3”s) and children with significant learning differences. Participants will practice the Paley model in class and try out an activity of their choice in their classrooms. A wide variety of resource material will be provided to support teachers in initiating storytelling and acting in their classrooms.

In Newton, Karen provided professional development workshops for K and pre-school teachers, including workshops that used the work of Vivian Paley. Currently she teaches workshops and courses for educators.
